One last time

I wake up desolate, there’s demeanor of quiet

In the room and all around

touch me now, I close my eyes and dream away

It might’ve been love

however, it’s over at this point

From the minute you arrived ’til the time had run out

Pretending we’re as one

That I’m shielded by your heart

In any case, in and outside I’ve swung to water

Like a tear in your palm

A hard winter’s day, or blazing hot night, I dream away

Because it might’ve been love but it’s over at this point

I know I’ve dreamed you a sin and a lie

But don’t you blame me, I don’t have much time

Faith has been broken tears must be cried

I’ve found a home for my heart

I’ve found a reason to show

A side of me you didn’t know

A reason for all that I do

And the reason is you

Come, sit next to me

Let me steal those moments we shared

One last time before we leave it all behind…

  1. This is just Wow! 😮 The very first thing I like about this poem is the title and the theme, One last time! It just arouses so many emotions. 🌼 And the phrases are so artistic too.
“I’m shielded by your heart”, and this one, “Like a tear in your palm”. These are so beautiful. They paint so many images in my mind. Great work, Abhishek. I am feeling the happiest right now. ☺ Please continue with this, okay?

This comment made my day. Feeling accomplished 😇.
And thanks for giving me a challenge which I thought, I’d never be able to do. Hope I’ll write more of such in future 😄
