Tonight I wanna lift up my voice,
To know
How sweetly I can sing,
Or how well I resonate
With the music of the cosmos?

Tonight I wanna open up my heart,
To hear
The echo of its beating in time
With another,
Or the diaphanous pain of love,
Or the infinite joy of forgiveness?

Tonight I wanna open up my eyes,
To see
The beauty in a falling drop of rain,
Or marvel within the largeness of the skies,
Or what the mirror tells me
In its stark honest fidelity?

Tonight I wanna spread my wings,
To know
How high I can soar,
Or how far I can fly,
Or what it’s like to race the moon,
Or dip my fingers in a thundercloud or touch a star?

Tonight I don’t want bitter tears
Shed o’er my grave
For songs unsung, or deeds undone,
Or untasted fruits, or love untested.
When the time has come for me to depart,
There’ll be no reason, then, to fall apart.

I’m a country boy

I grew up overshadowed by wild rivers

Couldn’t catch the eye of no city girl

Here I am devoted to her
How I love the way she looks in her ripped jeans
Can’t believe I let the smog cloud my eye

Where the wild jungle stand
And the icy cliffs surround
I’ll ride my battered truck with you by my side

There’s a whisper in the breeze
Reminding me of countryside
That whisper builds
That whisper cries
Countryside in the morning skies

You appear on the horizon
Brushing that wavy hair from your eyes

The city folk with their fancy gadgets
Cement rivers like grey tombs
Don’t have nothin’ on our way of life
Just listen to the crickets

Don’t live your life like a cheat
Today might feel the time to be like a cheat
But that ain’t no way to lead a life

You know, there’s a lot I drive by in my battered truck
Folk who is messing up
Always stay honest, love
Always stay honest

When I was a child
I met an honest man
“How can you be so honest ?” asked I

Here was his wise reply

Don’t live your life like a cheat
Today might feel the time to be like a cheat
But that ain’t no way to lead a life

Met an old lady who lived like a cheat
“What happened to her?” asked I
Here was his wise reprise

Don’t live your life like a cheat
Today might feel the time to be like a cheat
But that ain’t no way to lead a life

That lady’s gone now
It’s sad really
Word is, she had wavy hair once

Honey, keep your jeans ripped
But always stay honest, love
Always stay honest

Crickets, crickets, crickets
Crickets, crickets, crickets…

Three day lyrical challenge – Day two

I would like to share the lyrics to a song by my favourite band – Linkin Park.

Song: Iridescent

Album: A thousand suns

Year of release: 2010

Genre: Rock

When you were standing in the wake of devastation
When you were waiting on the edge of the unknown
And with the cataclysm raining down
Insides crying, “Save me now!”
You were there, impossibly aloneDo you feel cold and lost in desperation?
You build up hope, but failure’s all you’ve known
Remember all the sadness and frustration
And let it go. Let it go

And in a burst of light that blinded every angel
As if the sky had blown the heavens into stars
You felt the gravity of tempered grace
Falling into empty space
No one there to catch you in their arms

Do you feel cold and lost in desperation?
You build up hope, but failure’s all you’ve known
Remember all the sadness and frustration
And let it go. Let it go

Do you feel cold and lost in desperation?
You build up hope, but failure’s all you’ve known
Remember all the sadness and frustration
And let it go. Let it go

Let it go
Let it go
Let it go
Let it go

Do you feel cold and lost in desperation?
You build up hope, but failure’s all you’ve known
Remember all the sadness and frustration
And let it go. Let it go

The song Iridescent” is a rock ballad about hope in the midst of chaos and sadness. The song really helps me get out of sadness and grief. It’s about letting go and moving on. Taking about other interpretations the entire album ‘ A Thousand Suns’ is a concept album dealing with human fears like nuclear warfare. This song also highlights the same concept, for example, ” burst of light that blinded every angel” can be understood as a nuclear explosion which produces a hell amount of light which can even blind the angels,” standing in the wake of devastation” sways toward the aftermath . Nuclear wars were a looming threat not so long ago, hence this album highlights those issues. Taking it generally, it asks us to move on in life, let go of our envy, frustration and sadness. I love this song and it’s still one of my favourites.

1. “Iridescent” serves as the theme song for the film Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

2.  The album’s title is a reference to a line in the Hindu Sanskrit scripture the Bhagavad Gita“If the radiance of a thousand suns were to burst at once into the sky, that would be like the splendour of the mighty one”

WC Final

France beats Croatia (4-2) to claim their second world cup after 20 years. Both teams showed top notch temperament, skills and dedication. Both were equally deserving. But as they say ” There can only be one winner “, hence destiny chose France this time.

Here are my favorite moments from the final

1. Peaceful and young presidents of both nations setting example of harmony and humanity.

2. French president couldn’t control his emotions after France scores a goal. The image says everything.

3. Thousands of fans coming out to support their nation at Eiffel Tower

4. Goons invasion amidst the match

5. The show stealer as always…. Mr putin does it in style. Putin the boss was only one to get the umbrella when a sudden downpour soaked the Russian Luzhniki Stadium 😂

Three day lyrical challenge – Day One

A few days back two awesome fellow bloggers Revati and Zarbakht Bilal nominated me for this cool – The three-day lyrical challenge.

Revati is among the most amazing person here on Wp and of course, she’s a genius think tank. You’ll love having conversations with her on a variety of topics ranging from life, psychology, and spirituality. So go check out her blog post, it will leave you mesmerized.

Z is an extremely hardworking and definitely a gifted writer. The fact that she puts in lots of efforts in researching, curating and putting all those emotions and feelings together in precise words is really commendable and it’s definitely worth your time. One of the best work you’ll ever read. Do give her blog a visit!

Okay now, here goes the lyrics

Song:- Dream On

Band:- Aerosmith

Every time I look in the mirror
All these lines on my face getting clearer
The past is gone
It went by like dusk to dawn
Isn’t that the way?
Everybody’s got their dues in life to pay
Yeah, I know nobody knows
Where it comes and where it goes
I know it’s everybody’s sin
You got to lose to know how to win
Half my life’s in books’ written pages
Live and learn from fools and from sages
You know it’s true
All the things come back to you
Sing with me, sing for the year
Sing for the laughter, sing for the tear
Sing with me if it’s just for today
Maybe tomorrow the good Lord will take you away
Yeah, sing with me, sing for the year
Sing for the laughter, sing for the tear
Sing with me if it’s just for today
Maybe tomorrow the good Lord will take you away
Dream on, dream on, dream on,
Dream yourself a dream come true
Dream on, dream on, dream on,
Dream until your dreams come true
Dream on, dream on, dream on,
Dream on, dream on,
Dream on, dream on, ah
Sing with me, sing for the year
Sing for the laughter, sing for the tear
Sing with me if it’s just for today
Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you away
Sing with me, sing for the year
Sing for the laughter, sing for the tear
Sing with me just for today
Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you away..

I believe this song is about never abandoning what a person dreams about. Whatever happens one must dream on. And of course, according to the chorus, it is clear – live for the day. Do everything in time. Never postpone until tomorrow what you can do today. Don’t be lazy to do what you really want. Because tomorrow may not come. You can lose the right moment… And be sorry about that for all your life. It’s better to be sorry for what you have done than to be sorry for what you haven’t…

Trivia: Eminem made a cover of this song and named it as – Sing for the moment. Both of them are equally good, in my humble opinion 🙂

I would like to nominate:-

1.Anchal Sethi

2.Barkaat Fatima

Just for fun

Few jokes to lighten up your mood if you had a terrible day! 😂

1. The real pirate

A pirate walks into a bar, sits down and orders a drink. The bartender is amazed by this, seeing an actual pirate. So he asks;
“Is that a real hook on your hand?”
“Aye, I were in a duel with me ol’ nemesis, and lost me hand in the struggle.”
The bartender is shocked, and continues by asking;
“Is that a real pegleg?”
“Aye, tis. I was out at sea, ‘nd our ship were fired upon. Lost me leg in the crossfire.”
The bartender couldnt believe it! A real pirate! So he asks him;
“How about your eyepatch? How did you get that?”
“Arr, I was just getting to shore, when a seagull pooped in me eye.”
“And you lost your eye from that?”
“No, I just still wasn’t used to the hook.”

2. Smartest guy in the plane

3. Who killed the chicken ?

Famous people answer the ubiquitous question, “Why did the chicken cross the road?”

TEACHER: To get to the other side.

PLATO: For the greater good.

ARISTOTLE: It is in the nature of chickens to cross roads.

SOCRATES: Why do you think the chicken crossed the road?

HIPPOCRATES: Because of an excess of phlegm in its pancreas.

KARL MARX: It was an historical inevitability.

MILES DAVIS: That chicken was a motherfucker.

EINSTEIN: Whether the chicken crossed the road or the road moved beneath the chicken depends upon your frame of reference.

BUDDHA: Asking this question denies you, your own chicken nature.

RALPH WALDO EMERSON: The chicken did not cross the road. It
transcended it.

CHARLES DICKENS: It was a far, far better road that he crossed than he had ever crossed before…

WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE: But soft, what bird on yonder asphalt trots?

DARWIN: Chickens, over great periods of time, have been naturally selected in such a way that they are now genetically disposed to cross roads.

DARWIN’S NEPHEW: Which came first, the chicken or the road?

BILL GATES: I have just released the new Chicken Office 2020, which will not only cross roads, but will lay eggs, file your important documents, and balance your checkbook.

OLIVER STONE: The question is not, “Why did the chicken cross the road?” Rather, it is, “Who was crossing the road at the same time, whom we overlooked in our haste to observe the chicken crossing?”

FREUD: The fact that you are at all concerned that the chicken crossed the road reveals your underlying sexual insecurity. You see, to you the road represents the barrier between what is and what might be. What is…is you in front of the computer screen, practicing celibacy, peering into your mother’s womb, wishing to be suckled at her breast (in this case, at the teats of internet knowledge and passive acceptance), hating the reflection in the screen that reminds you of your father, thinking how you life can never measure up… What might be, only the chicken knows, now that he has crossed…

MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR.: I envision a world where all chickens will be free to cross roads without having their motives called into question.

BILL CLINTON: I feel that chicken’s pain as he struggles to make the decision whether or not to cross the road…
[MONICA LEWINSKY: The chicken’s pain isn’t the only thing he felt.]
BILL CLINTON’S REPLY: That depends on how you define “chicken.”

DAVID COPPERFIELD: I made the chicken disappear and reappear on the other side.

ACCENTURE CONSULTING: Deregulation of the chicken’s side of the road was threatening its dominant market position. The chicken was faced with significant challenges to create and develop the competencies required for the newly competitive market. Accenture Consulting, in a partnering relationship with the client, helped the chicken by rethinking its physical distribution strategy and implementation processes. Using the Poultry Integration Model (PIM), Accenture helped the chicken use its skills, methodologies, knowledge, capital and experiences to align the chicken’s people, processes and technology in support of its overall strategy within a Program Management framework. Accenture Consulting convened a diverse cross-spectrum of road analysts and best chickens along with Accenture’s consultants with deep skills in the transportation industry to engage in a two-day itinerary of meetings in order to leverage their personal knowledge capital, both tacit and explicit, and to enable them to synergize with each other in order to achieve the implicit goals of delivering and successfully architecture and implement an enterprise-wide value framework across the continuum of poultry cross-median processes. The meeting was held in a park-like setting, enabling and creating an impactful environment which was strategically based, industry-focused, and built upon a consistent, clear, and unified market message and aligned with the chicken’s mission, vision, and core values. This was conducive towards the creation of a total business integration solution. Accenture Consulting helped the chicken to become more successful.

MICHAEL SCHUMACHER: (Splat!) Oh, sorry. Was that a chicken?
